WORRY
How I quit worrying too much...
I used to be a real Worrier. Worrying all day long about anything and everything. It drained my energy and caused me a lot of physical pain. Especially in my shoulders and neck.
I knew from the job I do that I was not alone. In fact, most of the women I speak to name “Worry” as one of their major problems in daily life. Worry, like a poison, affects their well-being, their sleep and even their sexual life.
So how did I stop worrying as much? (notice the 'as much' cos like...I still worry sometimes! Naturally! :-)
Well, I did many many things but here are the 2 most powerful things I learned over the years:
1 – Believe in yourself more. One of the reasons we worry is because we don’t REALLY trust ourselves. We feel small in comparison to life so we live in a constant state of fear and hyper-vigilance.
WHEN YOU KNOW IN YOUR BONES THAT YOU’VE GOT WHAT IT TAKES TO HANDLE WHATEVER LIFE THROWS AT YOU, YOU CAN RELAX.
2 – Worry is one of the ways in which we limit ourselves. A major Upper Limit, as Gay Hendrix puts it. Like I said before, there is only so much happiness we can handle so we sabotage it by worrying. Notice it when you get a chance to unwind, your brain goes the extra mile to create a list of worries that prevent you from having a good time.
SO HERE IT GOES: BUILD YOUR TOLERANCE TO FEELING GOOD. GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION TO LET GO OF ALL YOUR CONCERNS AND JUST BE…SEE HOW LONG YOU LAST!
I am so passionate about this topic because it feels close to home. I want to inspire more women and mothers to create HAPPIER, CALMER AND EASIER LIVES.
Love, Always.
